Hill Walking

Saturday

Snowdon, from Rhyd Dhu	?	?

From carpark, walk on footpath heading East for 3.5km, then head North on the ridge of Snowdon to the summit. Then Descend towards the North, following train tracks. Take the path to the West, following the Ranger track. After the reservoir, take bearing cross country to return to Rhyd Dhu CP.

Scrambling

Two groups went scrambling on each day, on Saturday one group went up the Nantle Ridge, a classic scramble along a narrow ridge, and the other group went up Carneddau Dayydd from the Llech Ddu Spur (the umbrella scramble.....it's a BUMC term!)
On Sunday, one group did again the "Umbrella Scramble", and the other taking the scramble up Tryfan, one of North Wales' classics.

Description: Head West along path out of Rhyd du car park, up towards the summit of Y Garn. Head South along the ridge of Y Garn along Mynydd Drws-y-Coed. Turn West along the ridge to Myrvydd Tal-y-mynedd. Head Southeast along a wall, over boggy ground to Barnedd-yuuh. A descend can be made from here to Nantle or head back down to Rhyd Du depending on time.

Description - From drop off walk up the road, then onto a footpath. Follow the Agon Llayor river for 3km, then scramble up the ridge. At the summit, head East along the Ridge to Carnedd Llewelyn, then round to Helg Du for a short scramble. Head down, then walk along the A5 shortly back to the hut.

A small group went bouldering on both days.
On Sunday it was at Caseg Fraith Boulders which are just out of the back of the hut.
